An airport is the main gate to a country's entry. Dubai's airport is one of the best airports in the world. It is full of shops and shoppers. If you have to make transit of more than four hours at this airport, you can get free meal at a particular restaurant and even take a shower. You can also take a nap on one of the sofas available at every gate. This is one of the reason why we must visit Dubai. And here he is, sharing his experience with me.

In Dubai

Having undergone an eye scan as part of the immigration procedure for arriving passengers at Dubai airport, I started my wonderful experience in this country. Even though it was winter time during my visit, the weather was like in jakarta in the month of June or july.
I visited several interesting places in Dubai. The first was the Jumeira Palm area, which was to be an exclusive housing complex. But since the monetary crisis, the investors have left it unfinished. Atlantis Hotel, is located in this

Museum

My next destination was the Dubai Museum, which is located in Al Fahidi Fort. The fort it self is a unique building made of coral and shell rubble from the sea cemented together with lime. It has wooden poles that support the upper floor. The ceiling is made of palm fronds, mud and plaster. Inside the museum, I saw displays of old maps, various musical instruments from ancient times, a collection of weapons, and a lot more. There was also a model of a wind-tower room in the architecture section, with diagrams and photographs showing different types of wind-towers from the older areas of Dubai city. The museum even has a collection of local boats, including a replica of the famous abra,a ferry boat used for transporting passengers across Dubai Creek.

Gold Souk

From the Dubai Museum, I continued my journey to Gold Souk using a water taxi.Gold Souk is a famous traditional market in Dubai that sells jewelry - mostly gold - and souvenirs. Business in Gold Souk was establised during the 1940s due to Dubai's free trade policies, which encouraged entreoreneurs from India and Iran to set up stores in this area.

Desert Safari

My adventure didn't stop there. After a quick lunch, I prepared myself fora journey across the desert, a desert safari. Using a four-wheel-drive car driven by a very skilful driver, I very much enjoyed the bumpy trip. The car went up and down the sand dunes. It was a bit scary, yet exciting. The time for sunset came. They yellow reddish sun slowly went down the base camp in the middle of the desert. The car packed about 200 m from the base camp. We had to walk on the sand to the base camp. In this camp, I experienced a lot of things: smoking shisha (arabian pipe), eating a baebeque meal, wearing an Arab robe and headdress for a picture taking, and enjoying belly a dance performance.

Snow Park - Emirate Mall - Dubai Mall

The next day, I visited Emirate Mall, Which has an amusement park, Snow park. It felt like being in a snow resort in winter time. One could ski or walk around on snow. How amazing to see a snow resort in a desert place like Dubai. My last destination was Dubai Mall. When I stepped in, I was amazed to see a huge aquarium filled with thousand of fish. I saw a fountain attraction at the back side of the mall, where I took pictures before going back to hotel.
